Yangshuo China - A Travelers Gem

เขียนโดย ohada |

Since many years, Yangshuo is considered to be a travelers gem. Even in the ears that China was a closed country and few, if any were able to travel in China, Yangshuo was the exception. In the early 80's, when traveling in China was almost like traveling to Mars, there were only a few areas for tourism opened. Most of those areas you had to travel with an official Chinese guide, who usually spoke little English and told you no more then the official story, written by the the Chinese Communist Party.

When I first visited China in the mid 90's, tourism was rapidly increasing. There were still plenty of officially closed areas but there were also plenty of options to travel independent through the country. Booking a train ticket or obtain a bus ticket could be a real challenge. I remember Hezhou, not far from Xiahe in north China where I could only obtain a bus ticket if I had a Chinese Insurance, but to obtain such an insurance you needed to hand over a bus ticket, proving you were traveling in that area.

Those days are over. China nowadays is just as difficult, or as easy to travel as any other Asian country. That is, of course, if you do your homework. One thing many travelers underestimate are the distances. Flying from west to east China take 3 hours, north to south, around 1.5 to 2 hours. So planning is essential.

Yangshuo is such an area that shows up on my "to be visited areas in China". It's not for nothing. There are few places in China, even in the world more scenic then Yangshuo.

The limestone mountains of Yangshuo

I have said it before, and I repeat it here: "If paradise have existed, it might very well have been here in Yangshuo". Of course there are plenty of other wonderful and magic areas to visit but Yangshuo has without a doubt one of the most famous and spectacular limestone karst rock formations.

Yangshuo is located in south China, about 600 km north west of Guangzhou and Hong Kong. With an international airport in Guilin, Yangshuo, at 66 km from Guilin is now easily accessible to the rest of the world. The Guilin airport has direct connections to Hong Kong and Bangkok amongst other international airports.

While flying in from the Hong Kong direction you might already get a glimpse of the limestone mountains. The airport, located west of Guilin city is also the north west border of the limestone mountain area. Traveling by taxi from the airport to Guilin gives you already an intro to what you will see later on.

The way to Yangshuo

There are two ways you can travel to Yangshuo from Guilin. One goes over land, the other via the Li Jiang river. Personally I like the river cruise, because that is what it is, as an entrance to Yangshuo. The start of the cruise is nothing much. But after some time the landscape gets more and more spectacular until it reaches its summit in Xingping where boats have a stop and you can enjoy a drink in one of the restaurants.

This doesn't mean the last part of the river to Yangshuo, another 20km or so, is not interesting. Contrary. This part is beautiful and I can recommend it in any season although, obviously in the summer months, when beautiful clear weather it's spectacular.

The road from Guilin to Yangshuo does not offer such spectacular sights, thus many people decide to come through the river and leave via the road.

There is another way to come to Yangshuo, from the south. Hong Kong and Guangzhou are not too far, a night bus ride away. The old road from Guangzhou to Wuzhou and then north to Yangshuo is no longer so much in use but it is a very nice and partly scenic road. However, as many travelers from Guangzhou or Hong Kong come with night buses, they won't see much of the scenery anyway. The newer road is much more scenic. Cyclists travel this road too but it's a busier road. There are several towns with some very scenic areas though nothing comes close to Yangshuo.

Travelers from south China, Nanning and Liuzhou usually take the express bus or the train to Guilin but there's another road, crossing the hills and come just south of Yangshuo together in Lipu. Cyclist usually take 2 days from Liuzhou to Yangshuo this way. There are sleeper buses doing this journey but it's slow and unpleasant.

The limestone mountains

Most people come for two reasons to Yangshuo: see the limestone rock formations and do some cycling, hiking, rockclimbing or other outdoor activities here. Moonhill is one of the most famous and most visited rocks in the area. It's located at the main road some kilometers south of Yangshuo town center. But there's plenty more to see.

Take a raft just north of Moonhill and drift westwards with the limestone mountains on both sides. More serene you can not get it. Or go to Xingping, another spectacular area with plenty of opportunities for rock climbing and hiking. But the best way is simply to take a bicycle and cycle in the area. With of without a guide, you will find small villages where time seems to have stand still.

Others come simply here to hang out, enjoy a westernized piece of China, where bread, coffee and pizza together with plenty of Chinese speaking English make life easy. True, in China these days there are more places where you find these western things. Yangshuo still has the name as a backpackers paradise and it's still worth the visit for a couple of days.

Travel - Get Cracking With Backpacking

เขียนโดย ohada |

Backpacking is a popular method of holidaying, enjoyed by all ages - from students to young professionals.

Whether it be trekking through Thailand, surfing the coasts of Australia or exploring the more spiritual side of India, these trips offer the opportunity to get away from it all and experience other cultures.

But travelling on a budget means that backpackers have an increased risk of crime and suffering some kind of injury abroad - from slips and trips to nips and bites from the local fauna.

It is important to ensure that suitable travel insurance is in place before setting off on such an excursion. Before setting off, travellers should be wary of the costs involved and also ensure they have the correct type of cover for their trip.

There are a number of different cheap travel insurance policies which are specially tailored to meet the needs of backpackers. These policies cover a wide range of factors associated with travelling, and can vary in timescales - ranging from a week to two years.

Backpacker policies can prove to be more affordable than single trip travel insurance policies. It is advisable that potential packers double check the policies and ensure that a number of factors are in place to help cover them through their trip:

Emergency Medical Cover - helps cover any costs in the event of you requiring medical assistance
Rescue and Repatriation - helps to cover costs in the event of a medical emergency rescue
Baggage and Possessions Cover - an essential part of your cover that helps cover costs of valuables should they be lost or stolen during the trip. Check that the policy also covers admin costs should your passport need to be reissued.
Personal Money - provides compensation cover for any lost cash or travellers' cheques, although the limit tends to be low
Personal Liability - legal cover for any accident or injury you might accidentally inflict on another person
Holiday Cancellation - should you need to cut your trip short early due to unforeseen circumstances, provides compensation for any monies lost as a result
Travel Delay - helps provide compensation for any money lost due to a delayed departure, although this may only apply after a certain amount of time

A wide range of special cover options can be selected to cater for the needs of a backpacking excursion - including protection to cover extreme sports such as bungee jumping and scuba diving, as well as winter sports such as skiing and snowboarding.

Understanding Your Travel Insurance

เขียนโดย ohada |

Finally, you are able to relax on that long-awaited vacation. You stretch your arms above your head as your eyes take in the beauty of your surroundings. It is so nice to finally see the fruits of your labors. You take a step away from your comfortable chair, and step smoothly onto a piece of broken glass. Clutching your throbbing foot you sit back down and notice an official of some sort is trying to get your attention, apparently your luggage never arrived either. Your head starts to spin, and just as decide you have no idea what to do, your cell phone rings and your wife tells you that one of your children is terribly sick and needs medical attention now. This could have all been avoided.

Travel Insurance

If you are thinking about a vacation from the UK it is time for you to value travel insurance. Travel insurance allows you to have more confidence and calm while you travel, granting you an excellent rest instead of thinking about some unknown calamity that you could fall victim to. Before deciding on any travel insurance it is always best to consider three points first.

- Where are you going?
- How long will you be gone?
- Who are you going with?

When visiting foreign countries you should focus on researching worldwide travel insurance companies. Typically, these kind of insurance companies provide almost global protection to help you enjoy a safe trip. Such policies may have coverage for death as a result of an accident, disability, loss of credit cards or currency, identification documents, luggage, vehicle damage and other such incidents. Medical coverage for numerous sports, ranging from deep sea diving to rock climbing, also can be included based upon your need.

For those who travel frequently, multi trip travel insurance is a more suitable variant. Such policies also tend to cover sports accidents or medical emergencies, personal items and funds, travel delays and others. Trip duration for these types of policies tends to be from 45 to 90 days, but the usual total minimum coverage duration is at least one year.

Some like to travel accompanied by a large group of friends or with a group of co-workers, group travel insurance is designed specifically for this purpose. It gives the possibility to enjoy your travelling experience with fewer worries. Group travel insurance covers more than one person, but usually tends to offer less intensive coverage. While it may cover more people, it usually does not offer the same amount of coverage per person that a policy designed for one person would cover. Even still, this is the ideal choice for those travelling with a group of non-relatives of four or more people.

Family travel insurance is an excellent method to insure your family is safe during your travels. Of course, it is always especially important to be absolutely sure of the credibility of your policy when travelling with your family. Policies of all kinds can be offered for you and your family. The three questions above along with your budget will determine as to what kind of policy you will receive. Children tend to make travelling a little more risky due to their natures; luckily, it is not unusual for family policies to cover small children for free.

A variety of web sites allow busy people in the UK to find travel insurance online. You can arrange quotes from multiple companies and quickly compare the different policies to decide which will best fit your needs. Also, you can confer with a travel agent in person to help determine what exactly you need.

How To Save Money On Travel Insurance

เขียนโดย ohada |

Travel insurance policies are a great way for travelers to protect their investment and cover themselves financially while away on vacation or a business trip. Both travel and demand for travel insurance are ever increasing and cover is now available through many different insurers. This article will discuss a number of ways to save money on travel insurance which all you should know about if you are looking for a policy.

Start with a Basic Plan and Go from There

One of the first ways in which you can save money on your travel insurance policy premium is to start with a basic insurance plan and work your way up from there. Many insurance providers will offer basic travel plans and then provide options for adding on other types of coverage. For example, a basic insurance plan for travel needs may include trip cancellation protection and cover for lost or stolen luggage but the individual will have to add on additional facets of coverage such as medical expense reimbursement and personal effects coverage. By starting with a basic plan, you are able to pick and choose which additional benefits suit you. This will save you money in the end by keeping off benefits and features which are unnecessary for you.

Forgo Deductibles

Some insurance companies will have an excess or deductible amount attached to the policy in addition to the set premium. This is something which can cost the individual more should they need to make a claim on their insurance for some reason or another. Not all insurers will have an excess, therefore it is a good idea to shop around and look for policies with minimal or no excess for claims.

Consider Annual Travel Insurance Plans

Travel insurance policies come in many different forms. Some are single-trip policies whereas others will provide benefits and cover for an entire year. Although annual travel insurance plans are more expensive than single-trip travel insurance plans, they may save the insured money in the long run.

If the individual travels on a frequent basis, buying an annual insurance plan will often be in their best interest as it will cover them the entire year for all of the trips which they embark on. When comparing that to the price of paying for individual policies each and every time you travel, obtaining an annual travel insurance policy will often be the best way to save a lot of money and have peace of mind knowing that year-round coverage is present.

Generally All That is Required For Backpacker Travel Insurance is a Basic Policy

เขียนโดย ohada |

While many backpackers have a relaxed attitude about travel insurance those that take the time to put a basic backpacker travel insurance policy in place can make their journey without the risk of high medical costs ruining a great holiday.

As a general rule backpackers are single, young and not keen to pay high insurance premiums for benefits they do not consider relevant to their circumstances. The reality is that backpackers have few concerns about traveling other than falling ill or meeting with an accident that leaves them hospitalized for a lengthy period of time and incurring huge medical bills as a consequence. As a result they are generally not seeking disability or death cover but rather unlimited overseas emergency medical assistance and hospital expenses. They may also want backpacker insurance to cover off a nominal amount for the loss and replacement of credit cards or travel documents and stolen luggage or personal effects.

Purchasing backpacker insurance online is often much cheaper than the travel insurance that may be offered by a travel agent. In Australia there is quite a lot of competition for online insurance and basic backpacker traveler insurance that provides adequate cover for young travelers is readily available at a cost that is within their budget.

Whether you are looking for backpacking insurance that covers you for emergency hospitalization and the medical bills that you might incur when you are traveling either internationally or backpacking locally around Australia, there is basic backpacker travel insurance available online at a very low cost. Cheap backpacker travel insurance does not have to mean compromised cover, it simply means that you are not paying for cover you deem unnecessary - luggage delay for example will generally be of little concern to a backpacker taking his or her time traveling the world - an extra day waiting for bags is of little consequence.

The beauty of travel insurance for backpackers is that it is designed with backpackers in mind: policies for single trip, multi-trip, or even annual trip travels insurance are also available but there will be a premium for this. There are insurance plans and policies to cover hitchhiking, trekking, road trips, boat trips whatever traveling you have in mind on your backpacking holiday. If you are planning more dangerous activities such as skiing then you can cover for accidents but again this will obviously increase your backpacker travel insurance premiums.

When you purchase a basic backpacker insurance plan you are not buying hidden extras which simply won't apply to you, you are not paying for add-ons that are more likely to suit some high flying tourist slipping on a spilt martini along glass tiles of the roof top pool of some ritzy five star hotel. No, with backpacker insurance the policy is tailor made for the type of risks and dangers a traveling backpacker is far more likely to encounter. A basic backpacker travel insurance policy will cover emergency hospitalization, hospital and medical bills along with up to say $2000 cover for loss of credit cards, stolen travel documents or lost luggage.

The Top 5 Ways to Save Money That You Must Know NOW Before Traveling

เขียนโดย ohada |

In this article I will cover:

- Getting cheap or free web on your holiday / backpacking trip.

- Getting the cheapest but most comprehensive travel insurance possible.

- The cheapest international calls

- Cheap Accommodation

- How to find specific info for each city

Getting Free Internet on you Backpacking trip

When it comes to cheap backpacking, this tip will save you a lot.

I picked up an old Nokia phone with Wifi (EU75) from a gypsy market in Bulgaria two months ago, and I've been sponging off other peoples open wifi connections ever since!

The beauty of this is that each time I use my new free internet connection instead of paying Euro 2-5 (sometimes 10!), eventually that money saved means that I will eventually make the cost of the phone back and then start actively saving/making money.

I've also downloaded a nifty program called Fring, which lets me call others on Skype/Google talk etc for free or landlines/mobiles for a small fee when at a wifi hotspot. The fee is much less than what you can expect to pay with the normal 'cheap' international phone cards.

Working the system to get the cheapest travel insurance possible

Rule number one for having a cheap backpacking experience:

NEVER buy travel insurance from your travel agent! Until you follow the steps below first!

Buying travel insurance from travel agents is like buying Armani from a supermarket. It's just not cricket ~

Because it is a point of convenience, most people don't think about shopping around and just go for the first price they get. Which is always a rip off.

My first quote for travel insurance for a 6 month trip to Europe, Middle East and Africa was over AU$600 from my travel agent. No thanks.

I then did a search on the web for the absolute cheapest I could find with (and this is very important) comprehensive, unlimited health insurance, which is all I was interested in. I ended up getting a quote for AU$200 from a company backed by a major international bank. I then took that to my travel agent and they matched and beat it.

So I ended up paying AU$180 instead of AU$600 for the same product!

The cheapest international calls are not where you think

Most of us who are looking for a cheap backpacking experience know not to call home from hostel/hotel phones etc and usually buy calling cards.

Whilst this can be cheap, some countries don't have the cheap international calling cards, or if they do are not so cheap.

The other option is using a feature called 'Skype out' - this is part of the normal Skype program, except instead of just calling a Skype computer, you can call actual landlines and mobiles. For cheap!!: )

For example, I go to an internet cafe in Bulgaria and call home for the skype rate of AU 2 cents per minute instead of AU 26 cents per minute which I would be charged with a calling card/special internet phone booth.

That's 1/10th of the price!

Yahoo has an even cheaper option with their chat program.

Or if the person you are calling has Skype/Yahoo messenger, you can call for free obviously: )

Cheap Accommodation

The worst thing you could do when aiming for a cheap backpacking experience is booking a hostel through HostelWorld.

Having worked at a hostel I can tell you they own 80% of the market and can get away with charging you US$2 on top of the 10% booking fee.

Why pay the US$2 every time when you can book free at HostelBookers (dot com)? You get exactly the same thing without being taken advantage of!

Another thing that is handy to know is that that 10% deposit only goes to the website not to the hostel! Knowing that, why not Google the website of the hostel you want and email them directly, asking them if you can keep the 10% if you book through them directly? I've done this several times and its especially handy for long term stays

Specific info for each city:

Whilst the preceding four points are good general tips, one more thing that will save your hard earned money is to find blogs which cover cheap holidays for the city/place you are about to visit.

Age Concern Travel Insurance

เขียนโดย ohada |

As we grow older, many over the age of 65 enjoy extensive travel. In your golden years, you deserve to be able to travel to places you have never been, or visit those you enjoyed most in the past. Age Concern travel insurance may be the solution you need so that you can travel the world without added worries or stress. It often becomes hard to find travel insurance as you age, due to several factors such as medical conditions. Age Concern travel insurance takes a different approach to those of a certain age who want to travel the world.

Many insurance companies will not cover a pre-existing medical condition when you travel. Age Concern travel insurance will cover pre-existing conditions for those who qualify, and determining whether you qualify can be accomplished by answering a few questions. There are no upper age limit levels as there are with many travel insurance companies. Unfortunately, today many companies seem to view insurance as a luxury, when it is in reality a necessity for anyone who desires to travel either in their own country or to a foreign country.

Age concern travel insurance offers exceptional coverage for those aged 65 and older who enjoy traveling. While anyone wants to enjoy a trip to the fullest, things can and do happen. What if you were to be in an auto accident while you are in a foreign country? You may need to be hospitalized, which would bring up a whole new dilemma. All too often, people do not realize the jeopardy they put themselves in by traveling without purchasing insurance. Your bags may get lost or stolen, your trip may be canceled for unforeseen reasons, or an emergency may cause your trip to be cut short. It is a good idea to be prepared for anything when you decide to take off on holiday or a trip to Europe!

Many individuals are extremely active, even as they approach their golden years. Boating, skiing, and other activities do put you at greater risk of being injured, but life is not meant to be approached in an overly-cautious manner. If you are planning a trip that includes sports or activities that may be considered risky, many insurance companies will not cover you in the event that you are injured while participating in these types of activities. Be prepared for your trip by knowing what activities you will be engaging in, and whether you are covered if anything should happen.

Age Concern travel insurance was conceived over two decades ago, when it was apparent that people of a certain age were getting the short end of the stick when it came to travel insurance. Because everyone ages, you should not have to be stifled within boundaries concerning your enjoyment in life and things you want to experience. One of the most enjoyable things in life as you grown older is experiencing new places and new adventures. Age Concern allows you to travel and enjoy life, without the worries of what may happen or if you will be covered.

Always remember, this is not medical insurance. If an unexpected emergency does arise while you are traveling abroad, Age Concern travel insurance will cover emergency expenses, but not the usual expenses such as tests and medications that medical insurance provides.

For a worry-free trip you will remember for years to come, make sure you are equipped with the facts. It's always better to be safe than sorry, especially when you are visiting a strange country. Age Concern travel insurance takes care of many of those items you worry about, but other companies seem to disregard. Plan well in advance, learn more about what Age Concern travel insurance has to offer, and enjoy your travels no matter how far the fun and excitement takes you!

Commercial Liability Insurance

เขียนโดย ohada |

Liability insurance is when you cover any visible or possible liability that you may have with proper insurance. When businesses or commercial establishments purchase insurance to cover their liabilities, it is called as commercial liability insurance.

For any commercial firm, the commercial liability insurance pays part of or the entire amount of the damages caused by liabilities of the company that may have been imposed due to business-dealings or by law. It also has the potential to pay for the cost of legal defense in case of any claims. Adequate commercial liability coverage is a must to survive in business. Without it, a commercial firm would have to bear the cost of damages itself.

One has many options of applying for commercial liability insurance. However it is the insurance company that, by using their underwriting standards, determines if the business is eligible for insurance and for how much. The insurance companies have classifications on businesses, and any new commercial liability insurance has to fall in one of those classifications. This means that even a company with a totally clean record might still have to pay a high premium for commercial liability insurance.

Insurance is mostly sold directly by a company or through their agents and brokers. There are also individual and independent agents that, unlike exclusive agents, at times represent several insurance companies.

If one is considering buying commercial liability insurance, he or she should remember to contact several liability insurance agents and look around for various companies. At the same time, the firm should also ensure that it thoroughly understands what it is buying.

Often an independent agent can be a good source to provide comparisons on various commercial liability insurances policies available. However, one should remember to properly search around and even surf the internet to do some research on his or her own, before finally opting for one company and policy over another.

Also, do remember to check that the agent you choose has experience in your line of business and whether he or she is licensed to do business in your state. You can find about an agent's license from the Commissioner of Insurance by calling them up or visiting the website.

Bolivia - Travel Destination Tips on Where to Go

เขียนโดย ohada |

When in Sucre cheesy as the 'dino mobile' looks a trip to the dinosaur footprints will exceed your expectations.  The cost of a visit is cheap and the prints are extensive - it's just such a shame & quite unbelievable that such a treasure is still part of a working quarry.  The prints scale a sheer rock face which shakes with dynamite explosions from the base even as you watch - let's hope that UNESCO win their battle and these footprints are preserved for future generations.

Do not miss the world wonder which is the salt flats of Uyuni.  There are 2 choices of trip - either a 1 day trip out to the salt flats & back or a 3 day trip across the salt flats and on in to San Pedro De Atacama - Chile.  If Chile is on your travel path then this is probably the best trip to take as you will see all the attractions of the salt flats along with the red & green lagoons & flamingos.  The 1 day trip will however cover the salt flats element and from Uyuni you can get an overnight train down to the border with Argentina.  These trains do not leave every day though so worth checking before you arrive to avoid a prolonged stay in Uyuni.  Once in Uyuni every shop is a travel agent and trying to choose who to go with blows your mind - all offer pretty much the same thing the decider needs to be how good their English is and the state of their vehicles.  All operators have books with reviews from previous travellers so have a read of these before you decide.

La Paz is the unofficial capital of Bolivia and  the biggest city at high altitude in the world.  It´s a fascinating city, full of markets .. including the notorious witches market where Bolivians buy llama foetuses which hang in the doorways of all the shops - they´re believed to bring good luck if placed in the foundations of a building. For all those that have read ´Marching powder´ - yes the prison is still there but unfortunately when we were there nosy backpackers were no longer permitted access (although in Bolivia money talks so if you're feeling brave it could be worth a try!).

Do I Really Need UK Travel Insurance?

เขียนโดย ohada |

When you think of why you'd need travel insurance you probably get images of broken legs whilst skiing, Car rental mishaps in the Mediterranean and eating some dodgy shrimp. You wouldn't normally associate a weekend break within the UK as somewhere you'd need travel insurance.

But the truth is that wherever you go in the UK you are still going to need travel insurance, just not in the way you'd normally expect. Since you'll still be in the UK you won't be claiming against your life insurance if you get injured, that's what health insurance is for.

The situations you'd need to claim against travel insurance would normally be the occasions where you have to cancel your holiday or cut it short. One such situation could be that you go on holiday for two weeks, when halfway through you injure yourself meaning you have to go to the hospital, subsequently cutting your holiday short. Aside from the medical costs you could end up being lumbered with charges for your accommodation even though you're stuck in a hospital bed and not even at the hotel anymore!

This is unfortunate but hotels are well within their rights to charge you as otherwise they could have filled that booking with someone else. Luckily your travel insurance policy covers events such as these and can help regain most of the expenses which normally would be lost.

It's also becoming more popular for people to take advantage of cheap domestic flights and taking the plane as opposed to a long and winding road trip, so if you were to cancel your holiday even due to bereavement then normally you'd be left out of pocket, travel insurance covers this too fortunately. This would also cover lost luggage as even with domestic flights it's not unknown for your bags to disappear off the face of the earth!

Invariably whilst you're away you'll be taking a camera with you, and in this day and age probably a mobile phone or MP3 player too, if you were to lose or damage it while on holiday then you may not be able to afford a replacement out of your own money.

So as you can see there are plenty of occasions where you'd need travel insurance, no matter where you go, be it abroad or the other side of the country. If you have any doubts or questions it would be best to check with your current travel insurance company or a travel agent as they'd be best to advise on the level of cover for your chosen destination, you should also familiarise yourself with your insurance emergency claims line which are normally open 24 hours, 365 days a year

An Overview of Visitors Medical Insurance

เขียนโดย ohada |

Visitors coming into the United States should know that if they find themselves in need of medical attention while visiting, they will want to have health coverage. While heath care in the United States is some of the best in the world, it is quite costly. Just one trip to the emergency room can cost hundreds or even thousands of US dollars, depending on the seriousness of the situation. Fortunately for Foreign visitors, there are numerous companies who will sell them short term visitors' medical insurance.

Visitor's medical insurance is available in short term plans to cover individuals for the duration of their stay while in the United Sates. Plans can vary, but coverage generally includes doctor visits, hospital charges, lab work and x-rays, surgery and prescription drugs. It is advised to purchase your plan before you leave home, but visitors can also purchase plans after they have arrived. Take note though that coverage does not go into effect until after you have purchased a policy. The plans are generally quite flexible on how long they can be purchased for, providing coverage for just a few days up to a few months.

Plans are pretty simple to find and easy to sign up for. Visitors can check with their travel agent or look on the World Wide Web. Most companies offering plans can do the simple application right on the internet or over the phone. Most times the only information required is the person's birth date and their passport number. Plans do not require a physical exam.

Once travelers have signed up for a plan they will get an insurance card that will provide information in case they should need to use their plan. A policy number is included as well as a phone numbers that doctors and hospitals can use to verify coverage. In most cases you should also receive information on the network of doctors and hospitals that are in the plans PPO network. If you do find yourself needing medical care, and it is at all possible, you will want to seek out these doctors and facilities. They will be able to bill your claim, making the process easy and efficient for you.

There are some important things to be aware of when it comes to visitor medical insurance. Usually vision and dental issues are not covered. The same is true for over the counter medications and any prescriptions you are taking for pre-existing conditions. Finally, if your trip home is delayed for any reason, coverage will lapse at the time you have arranged. If you are going to be in the US for additional time you will need to call and add on days to your policy.

In recent years, travelers have been swept up in concern over easily-transmittable illnesses like avian flu and swine flu. Rather than not traveling at all because of fear of contracting a virus, the best course of action for travelers is to prepare ahead of time for their trip. This includes getting their own health checked out ahead of time, studying up on common health problems faced by tourists in their destination country, checking for the latest information on factors like weather in that country, and buying travel health insurance.

You can begin preparing for your international travel adventure by getting a checkup with your primary physician. This way you can treat any developing illnesses before you leave. This will help make sure that you don't exacerbate any conditions while traveling. You can also share this information with your travel insurance company ahead of time so they're aware of any preexisting conditions.

The next logical step in preparing is to learn about common health problems faced by tourists who are visiting the country you're heading to. Are there certain airborne viruses to be wary of? Should you avoid the local water supply? You may wish to consult with a rep from your travel medical insurance company, as they have experience working with people visiting many of the most popular destinations in the world.

Then, just before you depart, check the latest news from the country you're visiting. Are there climate shifts occurring that could impact your health like a sudden drop in temperature? Is it flu season in the place you're visiting? This is all good information to have on hand so you can be prepared for your visit.

Again, your travel insurance representative can help you stay abreast on the latest international goings-on.
Buying travel medical insurance is the last, and perhaps most important, step in getting ready for international travel. Because for all the preparation work you can do ahead of time, you can never guarantee that you won't get injured or become sick while traveling. And if you do need to visit the doctor or the hospital, being uninsured will be a very costly experience.

Rather than get stuck with a huge medical bill because your insurance doesn't cover you outside of your home country, buy a travel medical insurance policy and make sure that affordable high-quality medical coverage is always available to you.

You can buy travel medical insurance online from a number of different providers. Be sure to research your purchase ahead of time by browsing pricing details and plan features online. Most companies will post detailed information about their policies, and they're also happy to take further questions via e-mail or telephone.

Travel insurance will save you money should the unforeseen occur, and it will give you peace of mind while traveling. The last thing you want to do on your exciting trip abroad is to spend time thinking about how you would afford expensive medical bills. Eliminate that worry with a travelers medical insurance policy.

Health Insurance International Coverage

เขียนโดย ohada |

Travel is one of the most interesting things that you want to do. This is because there are so many good things that you will experience when you travel and not to mention the things that you would learn when you travel. However, not too many people may be able to experience the luxury of traveling not only because travel is expensive especially when you speak of international travel but also because of the difficulty in international travel. One of the hard things in international travel is to insure that you would stay in good health for the duration of your travel. At present, when you do international travel, the travel companies offer health insurance international coverage.

Accidents and sickness that require medical attention cannot be avoided when you travel, live and work abroad. Domestic health insurance is not a health insurance international coverage. Once people go abroad, their insurance goes beyond the limits of their domestic medical insurance and when this happens, you have to pay with your own money. As you know, the international medical bills may totally be very expensive and you may run short of your travel pocket money for the unexpected sickness. It is always prudent and safe to get an insurance that has international coverage if you are an avid traveler or if your job requires you to travel.

If you plan for a short trip, some insurance companies allow people get a health insurance international coverage for that trip only. This is great for people who plan to go on one specific trip. Sometimes, the trip isn't the determining factor but the time, like if the international coverage will last for a year or so. This is beneficial for people who keep on traveling to different places in a short span of time. Insurance companies have different rates and rules on how insurance policies work and will cover different situations. It's best for people to scout for insurance that offers the most realistic coverage.

A health insurance is a very important thing that shouldn't be skipped. Get a health insurance international coverage before you travel. It is also advisable to get a health insurance before you get sick because it will be difficult to get insurance once you have a medical condition. Insurance companies want to know that the people they are insuring are people who won't give them any loss.

How to Get Travel Insurance Online

เขียนโดย ohada |

Travel insurance is something that is totally crucial whenever you go away. Sometimes it is provided for you and sometimes it is not. When you need to go ahead and get your travel insurance you will always need to make sure that you have all of the bases covered so that you do not fall foul of some sort of tragedy that may cripple you financially. Here are the steps to take to get travel insurance online.

The first thing that you need to do is to think about where you are going and for how long and for what purpose. You will need to think about the budget that you have set and what you are willing to pay for.

Next you should test out certain customer service tools that are on different websites. This will help you to determine the quality of the service that any particular website or company will provide. Some companies are now beginning to bring in instant messaging and interactive services that allow you to find out what you want immediately.

Next, select the right type of insurance that you are going to need. Depending on the nature of your trip you may be able to find a niche plan. You need to make this selection when you are getting your quote so that you get an accurate representation of the price.

It is also a good idea to explore different subsidiaries of your current providers of car or health insurance to see if they offer travel insurance as well. This will enable you to find better rates if you mention that you currently hold certain policies through them. These companies appreciate customer loyalty and are likely to offer you better rates than other providers.

It is also a good idea to check out any testimonials and reviews of the company that you are choosing to go with, if not your own insurer or car insurance of anything else whom you will already have a good relationship and experience of. You should try to find those who have run into trouble in certain cases and see how the insurance company helped them out and how they delivered on the coverage that they were being given.

At the end of the day, you will probably have absolutely no use of the insurance but nevertheless it is always essential that you get it for that one eventuality.

If you're planning a trip away, whether it's for business or for pleasure, you need to be sure that you have the right insurance cover in case anything happens while you are away.

Arranging travel insurance used to be an expensive and frustrating process; however, like many other kinds of insurance, you can get travel insurance quotes, and arrange your coverage all online.

Different holidays and trips will require different kinds of cover. Most websites will have tick boxes or drop down menus for options when it comes to coverage, meaning you can customize your quote completely with nothing more than a few clicks of a mouse!

Your quote will be based on the number of people you require cover for. Many sites will offer free child travel insurance, but there is usually terms and conditions that apply to this free offer, so be sure to find out what you need to qualify for free insurance for your children.

Your quote will also be based on your age, as well as where in the world you are traveling to. Some insurers will not provide insurance for trips to countries that the Foreign and Commonwealth Office have advised against traveling to.

Buy having travel insurance, you can be sure that you and your family will get the cover you need for any accidents or illnesses that may occur on your trip, and will ensure you get the treatment you need, no matter where in the world you are.

You can get additional extras for your insurance, such as baggage cover, and winter sports cover, for those that love to ski and snowboard. If you are backpacking, you will need to mention this in your enquiry, as this requires specialised insurance. You can often get cancellation protection on your holiday down payment, and this extra can also be purchased with some travel insurance providers.

If you think you will only be looking at taking one trip this year, with the family finances being a little tight, then purchase single trip travel insurance. Many sites will provide a discount for purchasing this kind of insurance online, however many online quotes are discounted anyway, making sure you're always getting a great deal online.

Once your travel insurance booking has been organized, your documents will arrive in the post. Be sure to keep these safe, and to read the small print to be completely aware of what you and your family are covered for.

Make sure you speak to your insurer to check exactly what your policy covers.

Overseas Health Insurance Vs Credit Card Travel Services - Why Do I Need Both?

เขียนโดย ohada |

The big question is what kind of coverage is provided on your credit card. Some offer basic assistance benefits, while others will build in a medical evacuation program. Remember--the devil is always in the details!

Here are questions to ask about your travel insurance coverage on your credit card.

1. What are the details? Always read the fine print. Remember: The big print giveth and the small print taketh away!

2. Who do I contact if I get sick or injured and need coverage? The last thing you want when you are in need of medical care and/or evacuation is a voice message. You urgently need to speak to a live person who specializes in your concerns, not someone in the company who only knows how to cancel stolen credit cards.

3. Do I know how much coverage I will need? This is vital since credit card companies are not in the international health insurance business. Using a well-known international health insurance brokerage firm that specializes in overseas health insurance plans will give you much needed peace of mind.

4. Who pays for my health-care bills? Ask your credit card company if they pay your bills upfront, or if they will reimburse you later. Remember, the overseas medical staff is not going to wait until your credit card company pays. The evacuation team and the medical staff overseas want their money when service is rendered!

5. Will my credit card company provide me with the best hospitals and doctors? By going with a reputable short-term travel plan you will be routed to the best hospitals/medical facilities available. One international insurance company we work with bypassed a hospital in China and evacuated a patient to Thailand so they could get superior medical care. They did this despite the extra cost to the insurance company. Would your credit card company do this for you?

6. Will I pay a deductible on my credit card benefits? There are plans that have no deductibles and some with deductibles. Our evacuation plans have no deductible or co-pays.

7. Will my pre-existing medical conditions be covered? With travel insurance, the short answer is yes. That's good news for older travelers especially.

8. Will my credit card coverage bring my mortal remains back to the USA and pay for the red tape and government paperwork? Our international health plans do this without a penny out of your loved one's pocket. Most credit card companies, even when they offer it, offer limited medical care and evacuation coverage. Medical evacuation is often capped at $20,000 or less, and medical care is capped at $10,000. Please be aware that medical evacuation costs from Brazil to the Mayo Clinic in Florida are $26,000, and this is not for a major emergency. Another client in 2009 was evacuated from Algeria to Italy for a cost of $82,000. Medical evacuation may not always be this expensive, but we see very few evacuations that are below $20,000.

Peace of mind is what you get when you purchase a travel plan from a brokerage that specializes in overseas health travel insurance. Would you buy a pair of flip-flops to run a 10k marathon? Would you purchase a canoe to get you to the Cayman Islands? Of course not! What you want is the right amount and right type of travel insurance coverage. The last thing you want to worry about is how you are going to pay your medical bills while you are fighting to recover your health.

Top 5 Beach Experiences in Thailand

เขียนโดย ohada |

Australia is reputed to have one of the strongest beach cultures in the world, but many Australians still choose to travel to Thailand to experience their beaches. Although there have been some suggestions that Thai beaches are not as safe as Australia's, and many tourists suggesting that ordinary travel insurance will not be sufficient, this is largely an exaggeration.

Of course, the main difference is that Thai beaches do not offer the same rolling surf that can be expected in Australia. Instead, you can look forward to peaceful tree-lined tropical beaches, with pure white sand and friendly locals that will make your stay a magical one.

As with all tourist destinations, choosing the top five beaches in Thailand is a near impossible task, but we will try to narrow it down so you can plan your holiday with at least a little more certainty. And you won't have to worry about your travel insurance being in adequate!

Phuket. This is possibly the most famous Thai beach destination for Australians attracting tens of thousands every year. Despite its popularity however it is not the most peaceful destination but it is certainly the most developed. Some tourists appreciate the choice of accommodation and the nightlife but if this is not your scene you can give it a miss. Nevertheless it needs to be included in the top five list because of its reputation and popularity.
Songkhla. This is a virtually unknown beach destination located in the deep south. It consists of a beautiful beach punctuated by rocky outcrops and tropical jungle. And lack of tourists is the main attraction in this area but there is limited accommodation. As far as other attractions are concerned you can visit nearby temples and still enjoy the wonderful food distributed by the many street vendors. If you're looking for peace, serenity and quiet then this is the destination for you.
Lamai Beach. Located just south of Chaweng, this sparsely populated area is attractive to those in the know. It is not quite as remote as Songkhla, and has a much wider choice of accommodation and nightlife. The beach is beautiful and relaxing making Lamai a great choice for those wanting a beach without the crowds, but still with a semi-tourists feel to make your stay a comfortable one.
Maya Bay, Ko Phi Phi Ley.This beautiful beach is often described as the most picturesque in Thailand. Surrounded by limestone cliffs and nestled in a small bay, the beach is the perfect place to completely unwind in natural surroundings. Although it is a little remote, you won't have to worry about your holiday insurance being inadequate!
Ko Chang. A long-time popular destination for backpackers, many other tourists have now joined in the throng of tourists who visit the west side of the island. With beautiful white sand and gentle sloping hills, all set against a backdrop of coconut palms, this is a quiet haven for tourists who are not afraid to get off the beaten track.
So, from the many hundreds of choices, we have narrowed your search down to five Thai beaches any tourist will enjoy.

Four (4) Essential Tips For Booking Travel Insurance

เขียนโดย ohada |

Buying travel insurance is almost a necessity in today's world. Airlines commonly run behind schedule, overseas medical care isn't always up to par, tour groups are cancelled for a variety of safety reasons, and it seems that lost luggage is almost required in order to make a getaway a true vacation. However, no two travel insurance policies (and no two travel itineraries) are the same. That's why it's important to know how to get the maximum value out of your insurance policy.

Provide full disclosure

Although the thought of paying extra for travel insurance due to a pre-existing medical condition or your tendency to jump from cliffs for pleasure might not fill your heart with glee, you should never keep anything from your travel insurance provider. Insurance is built around you: your destination, your family, your activities, and your health. If you leave any important information out, you might be dismayed to discover later that you aren't covered due to your lack of disclosure - which can be catastrophic in the face of an emergency or other unplanned contingency.

Consider levels of coverage

As with most types of insurance, travel insurance will have maximum monetary limits for the amount that can be claimed for different coverage items. For example, your policy is likely to have a maximum per item limit and a total limit for the replacement of lost or stolen luggage. This means that there may be a cap on how much money will be paid out should your luggage never be recovered. If you're traveling with expensive jewelry or electronics, you want to ensure that the payoff amount is at least equal to the value of your goods.

Make sure you have the right dollar amount to cover all your expenses (as well as other necessities like emergency evacuation) should the unthinkable occur. Similarly though, avoid excessive maximum limits, as these will unnecessarily drive up the cost of your policy.

Work around your destination

Travel to notoriously war-torn countries, destinations where weather often delays departures, or locales with classically inadequate medical care should be taken into account (at least as much as possible). Many insurance policies will not cover everything in locations where there is a disproportionately high rate of specific problems and catastrophes. Generally an internet search will reveal a number of providers that will offer coverage for your trip, but if you really want to visit that island nation torn by civil war, you may be forced to pay significantly more for full coverage.

Know your policies restrictions

It sounds obvious, but knowing the inclusions and exclusions of your travel insurance plan is the main reason it is essential to read the fine print. Nothing is worse than thinking you are covered for the cancellation of your cruise due to weather only to find that hurricane delays are not included. Travel insurance can be a great safety net, but even the best and most comprehensive policy can't cover everything. Talk with your insurance provider to determine what you can count on and what exactly you are paying to include. This way, the only surprises that will occur on your vacation are the ones that create happy, long-lasting memories.

How to Exceed Your Travel Insurance Policy

เขียนโดย ohada |

As a travel insurance salesman one of your main concerns would be to at least achieve your travel insurance quota if not exceed it. To achieve success you need to take the help of tips from those who have been through the grind and who have learned a few things that can put quite a substantial sum of money in their pockets each and every month.

The key to success lies in understanding what the correct way of selling insurance policies is because without some tips to show you the ways forward you just will not succeed in doubling your income. For most travel insurance sales reps the question that is uppermost in their minds would be whether they too can earn substantial income from selling travel insurance to people.

The unquestionable truth is that if you are a person selling insurance you must be quite confused and even after spending years in the business this confusion may still be thwarting your efforts to be successful in getting people to buy travel insurance in big numbers.

To ensure a better chance of success you need to understand that the client is your passport to a great life and so you have to treat them with utmost respect. Unless you show how much you care for your customer you just cannot expect to become a successful travel insurance salesman.

This means that you must ensure that all the promises made your insurance company in their brochures and also in the billboard advertisements actually become reality for the customer. This is the only way that you can get a customer to purchase your travel insurance policies. In fact, meeting your insurance quota numbers should be likened to making hamburgers for those who like to eat at fast food joints; or, it is similar to manufacturing widgets.

You must sell your insurance in a manner that eases the pressure from your shoulders that your superiors will apply to get you to make more sales and that too immediately. This means doing more than leaving your business card with the customer or calling to confirm an appointment. You can get some results through these means but these methods are not in them enough to help you earn the big money.

You should therefore plan your selling strategy differently and in this it does help if you act in a manner that is sensible and which improves your chances of affecting a sale. Sometimes, it helps to make use of certain software that teaches people like you the right way to make an impressive sales pitch and which also helps you to present your case with suitable illustrations as to what benefits the client gets by purchasing your insurance policy. You must make your presentation simple concise and the focus must be to ensure that you do and say things that ensure that your customer gets your message in an easy to understand manner.

Learning these tricks is a surefire way to meet your travel insurance quota and also exceed it.

Travel Insurance Manual

Prices are constantly changing for all available products even that of medicine. Acquiring travel insurance may prove to be very helpful for travelers considering the condition of the market. A traveler may experience financial worries if he or she travels without the proper insurance documents.

This article will be a guide on what travel insurance can provide for the everyday consumer. It is beneficial if a traveler is confident about what relevance an insurance policy may have with regard to any travel plans. Being prepared for inevitable mishaps is the wiser approach to any traveling plan.

Even if someone considers him or herself to be in perfectly good condition, an accident can happen in an instant regardless of where the person may be hence the relevance of travel insurance. There are some insurance plans which can work together with provisions from a foreign provider giving the owner an extended coverage. There are policies which may be restricted for use only within the limits of the country where it was obtained from making travel insurance something that should be purchased nonetheless.

Travel insurance is also designed to protect a traveler's luggage, money, passport, and other personal belongings while available for use on medical liabilities. Insurance plans like this one are ideal for when people encounter repatriation and the like. There are numerous costs which every traveler should be prepared for before embarking on any trip making travel insurance a great asset to have.

What can someone expect to pay when applying for insurance coverage? People tend to pay more for an insurance policy than what it actually goes for no matter what purpose the policy is meant to satisfy. Despite basic travel insurance being relatively cheap per weekly duration of travel, why is it that people end up overspending when they acquire such services for themselves?

People who go on trips get insurance together with making reservations. Travel agencies make extra income as a result of this but quick and easy is what travelers prefer. Travel agents charge higher prices for insurance policies than those attained directly from the insurance companies themselves.

Travel packages from travel agencies almost always will include policies like this. The thing is that travelers should always be aware that nothing is usually free of charge and somewhere along the line, they would still be paying something for that additional travel insurance service. Travelers of all sorts find it easier to do business online and most travel agencies generate business this way influencing more people to get entire travel packages from them.

Insurance is readily available online as many insurance companies have joined the bandwagon for such marketing. Insurance that is attained personally will definitely cost cheaper than having someone else do the task. Travel agents still earn money from even the lowest deals when it comes to insurance.

Travel insurance quotes can be searched online where rates and provisions per policy per company can be assessed. Cheap does not mean bad and expensive does not always mean good. There are provisions from expensive policies that travelers may not need in the first place.

Use online services to choose among the different providers that can give travel insurance depending on the need. A series of regular provisions will incur an excess which is the standard charge for every client. Travelers who choose to pay higher excess rates will be given lower premium requirements.

A Hernia in Hawaii

เขียนโดย ohada |

You wouldn't think a hernia could cause so much trouble. But that's just what happened to Monica on her vacation in Hawaii. She and her husband Jonathan wisely purchased TIC's Emergency Hospital & Medical for Canadians before they left on their trip.

Everything was going great, as vacations tend to do. Then on the forth day a large wave knocked Monica off her feet during her swim. She was hurt so her husband Jonathan took her to the hospital.

Doctors told Monica that she had a hernia. They recommended surgery. Unfortunately, she had just eaten a large lunch and the surgeon wanted to wait eight hours.

During this time TIC went into action, communicating with the hospital, arranging billing and faxing medical authorizations.

Jonathan was worried about his wife's operation because she had just recently had a caesarian section. We wanted to make sure everything turned out okay so our medical consultant phoned throughout her hospital admission, asking for updates on Monica's condition.

In the end, Jonathan happily reported that his wife's surgery was a success. Doctors gave her a prescription for medication and urged her to avoid effort. Both Monica and Jonathan were impressed they had an insurance company that cared.

When they found out how much their bill was, they were ecstatic that they had bought TIC's travel insurance. The total cost of the surgery and hospital stay was $11,145 Cdn.

We arranged for the hospital to bill us directly so Monica and Jonathan didn't have to deal with that rather daunting amount of money. The hernia had already caused them enough grief, they didn't need a financial headache on top.

Holiday Insurance - Not Worth The Bargain!

เขียนโดย ohada |

With prices dropping all over the world on anything from flights to car rental, it is understandable that the number of people travelling abroad is increasing all the time. However reports have shown that many people are choosing to leave their travel insurance until the last minute, which can often lead to problems.

Unlike many other travel services, Insurance companies certainly do not give you a discount if you book at the last moment. It is highly recommended that you take insurance out very close to the time you purchase your holiday. Many businesses take a minimum of two days to process your policy, especially in peak holiday periods, so it really isn't advised to take a gamble, especially if you are going skiing for example!

If you rush buying your insurance you are less likely to be covered for everything you need and probably things that you don't. There is an abundance of different policies available and I would really recommend taking the time to find out which suits you best.

Be careful if you are relying on an "inclusive" insurance, such as those that many banks offer with their account. Where as a lot of the time they are very adequate, you should find out the limits to which they will pay out. Some, for example, are only up to approx £750 to cover damaged or stolen items. This isn't going to be suitable for a family of four with ski equipment!

Other, although less likely, issues to consider are things such as airport strikes, natural disasters at your holiday destination (such as seen in China), and political unrest stopping people entering the country. If you book your policy early you are much more likely to get your money back if these things affect your holiday. It is highly unlikely you will be able to purchase cover for these things after it has happened!

Medication Changes and Travel Insurance - Pre-Existing Medical Conditions Coverage

เขียนโดย ohada |

Medication changes or adjustments can cause a stable medical condition to be classified as a pre-existing medical condition under many travel insurance companies plans. Now, I don't mean to say that all travel insurance plans throughout the world work exactly like I'm going to explain it. I only work with 6 trip cancellation travel insurance companies mainly because I don't think it's possible to know the details of scores of different plans.

Also, before I go further into this subject I just need to say that what's commonly known as travel insurance really has two different categories:

- travel health / medical insurance

- trip cancellation / interruption travel insurance

While nearly everybody thinks that these kinds of plans are the same, in reality they're not for a few different reasons. So, with the purpose of trying to help you avoid likely claim problems with "travel health / medical insurance plans", here is what we say:

"Pre-existing conditions are not covered. A pre-existing condition is defined as any injury, illness, sickness, disease, or other physical, medical, mental or nervous condition, disorder or ailment that, with reasonable medical certainty, existed at the time of application or at any time during the three years prior to the effective date of the insurance, whether or not previously manifested or symptomatic, diagnosed, treated, or disclosed prior to the effective date, including any subsequent, chronic or recurring complications or consequences related thereto or arising therefrom."

I won't bore you with all the other differences between these types of plans, since I am only addressing changes of medications and pre-existing medical conditions.

Back to the trip cancellation travel insurance plans. Typically, these plans have a Lookback Period of 60 - 180 days prior to the date the travel insurance is purchased. If the person's medical condition has been diagnosed, treated, received advisement on, had symptoms of or changes or adjustments in their prescribed medication during that Lookback Period then most companies will define that medical condition as a pre-existing medical condition.

Having a pre-existing medical condition doesn't mean you can't get travel insurance. It just means that order to get coverage for that pre-existing condition with a trip cancellation travel insurance plan, you have to purchase the insurance within the specified deadline to receive the waiver of the pre-existing medical conditions exclusion. Here are the four rules that you need to follow:

- With a few exceptions, you have to insure at least your trip's full prepaid, non-refundable cost (you can't round it down). If you don't know your final trip cost, estimate it high to be safe. You can always lower to the correct trip cost prior to your departure date. If it drops you to a lower trip cost range, you'll get a partial refund. and

- The person (including non-traveling family members) with the medical condition has to be medically stable when you get your insurance and

- You must get your travel insurance in the first 14 or 21 days after your first trip payment date or no later than 24 Hours after you make your final Trip payment and

- You have to cover your trip's full length.

Inform Yourself As a Form of Travel Insurance, With Smartraveller

เขียนโดย ohada |

Taking an overseas trip will always engender equal parts excitement and panic... and that is not necessarily a bad thing! That nagging fear of the unknown is what prompts us to take measures to inform and protect ourselves, like making inquiries, taking out travel insurance, and being vaccinated. Making assumptions when you are overseas can be a quick route to hospital, jail, and in extreme cases, a coffin. When it comes to informing yourself, nobody has better, more comprehensive and trustworthy evidence than the Smartraveller site run by the Australian government. Here we look at the site's main sections and features, and why they create a form of primary travel insurance for you!

Travel advisories

There are some things that even travel insurance, useful though it is, cannot protect you against. Illnesses and injuries can have lasting implications, beyond an immediate need for medical assistance or evacuation. Reimbursement of expenses for many victims of crime will simply not return their lives to the states they were in beforehand. That is why the Smartraveller site issues advisories for most countries around the world where Australia has a consulate. The site ranks countries according to five levels of security risk. The European Health Insurance Card and the Importance of Travel Insurance

เขียนโดย ohada |

An article posted on fairinvestment.co.uk yesterday showed the current confusion over travel insurance. It highlighted that over the last year three and a half million British holidaymakers have travelled to Europe without travel insurance, under the assumption that the European Health Insurance Card alone provides adequate cover. So what exactly is the European Health Insurance Card and how does it compare to travel insurance?

The European Health Insurance Card was introduced in 2006 to replace the E111. The card allows you to have access to state healthcare in European Economic Area countries, such as Iceland, France and Spain, for a reduced fee and sometimes even for free. It costs nothing and needs to be renewed after five years, but it cannot be used by those who go abroad with the sole intention of receiving medical treatment.

The EHIC covers you if you need medical treatment while you are on holiday, this can include maternity care, dialysis, and conditions that may arise from illness or an accident whilst you are abroad. Also, if you do pay for treatment, an EHIC means you might be able to claim back the cost when you return to the UK.

Despite the obvious benefits of an EHIC, it cannot replace travel insurance. The EHIC does not cover you if you need private healthcare, or attention that is not provided by the state healthcare system. It will also not cover any travel costs, including rescue from a mountaintop via helicopter, or if you need to be brought back to the UK after an accident. It is also important to note that not all regions in the EEA necessarily have state healthcare, subsequently the EHIC will not be of much use in these areas.

Consequently, it is recommended that the European Health Insurance Card is used in conjunction with travel insurance, in fact some insurance companies only give travel insurance to customers who already have an EHIC. This is particularly important with the upcoming ski season, and many travellers hoping to hit the pistes at Christmas, whilst hoping to save as much money as possible.

The truth is that in the great scheme of going on holiday, travel insurance shouldn't be too expensive. Many companies, including Post Office, offer a 10 per cent discount online, and there are deals to suit every kind of traveller, whether you need single trip or annual cover - with the optional extras of customizing your package if you're planning on skiing or snowboarding.

Travel Insurance - How to complete the best value travel insurance

เขียนโดย ohada |

If from time to time passengers can purchase insurance from the travel agency. But if you travel more than twice a year, it is cheaper to travel a lot have one year permanent insurance than buying one every time.

Think ahead, plan ahead. Annual travel insurance 'is charged simply with a few laps. But not all the same value in cash and, as always, are the cheapest is not necessarily the best. More information about thislater.

Annual travel insurance is not mandatory, but gives you the certainty of the disease and the loss of or damage to property and many other events. Where is the best place to buy an annual travel insurance?

1st Your bank is probably the first place you want to try. Banks have in recent times are highly competitive and keep your business, offering the best prices. For example, my bank has upgraded my account to a premium account and pay the$ 20 per month.

As a result, I received numerous privileges such as free, worldwide, comprehensive travel insurance. But here's the best part ... I understood all the free travel insurance, not only for me but for every member of my family travels with me and my parents and brothers.

I said free because I have always been other benefits worth more than $ 20 per month, if you buy individually. I also save time because I neverTake a look around the insurance company So do not ignore it. 'S Bank.

2nd credit card companies also offer similar insurances, with some additional benefits. If lost or stolen credit cards, can be reached with an emergency one, often within hours.

In addition, travel insurance, there is another advantage in controlling credit card company terms. If your trip with your credit card, almost all credit card companies give excellent coverageagainst many of the things that can go wrong.

Some credit card companies also have special travel services, which only you but also travel discounts can not give you better protection, ie better travel insurance and a very low cost. But note that insurance offers exclude all, you are making an application for the same item to multiple sources, even if you have multiple insurance coverage.

For example, say you purchased a travel insuranceseparately and you have your ticket purchased by credit card. If your luggage is lost, you can almost certainly the right to one of two sources, but not both simultaneously.

The reason for this is that insurance companies have been the last few years in massive fraud. Granting requests simply encourages fraudsters to several insurance companies and making numerous false allegations.

For example, they may be one already damaged suitcase on a long journey Knowledge that fall apart. You can then claim, damage or loss of property from multiple insurers.

Insurance is a 3rd and obvious source for annual travel insurance. If you have a car or home insurance to an offer from your insurance company. Remember, because you're already a customer, your car insurance often have to ask a very good discount.

Here's a tip: If you do not give you a competitive advantage> Insurance, tell them that being different is where a good package. Let them know that your car insurance are looking for a good package that includes the great beyond for home insurance, travel insurance and also excellent.

Listen, the fear of loss is to bend towards us, and if not for you? Here's a tip: if you speak a different source to get insurance, the competitive position of your trip, be sure to mention your other activities that couldInsurance with them, such as your car, home, family, etc.

This does not work with business travel, but it works absolutely beautifully with most insurance companies. I've done it many times and saved me thousands of dollars, even thousands, in recent years.

The insurance industry is massively competitive. For once, working for the "little man" (You and I) can then use.

4th Certain types of insurance can also be home to the annualto cover the trip. Appears in almost all the insurance you have. Some home insurance companies include some form of coverage at home travel, including loss or damage to property while away from home.

Tip: Even if you live with your parents, ask them to review their policy for you. You will be surprised to see that "your" property is borne away from home.

Just a word of caution: the output is not what is covered or the amount of coverage. If in doubt, ask theInsurer. When describing the cover seems even better than predicted on the basis of the policy document, they ask their questions in writing.

Why? If no leakage, the insurer will send you a local expert to assess the damage. These guys are called loss calibrators. Your task is to help companies save money on insurance. And I tell you love experiences, take no prisoners.

They screw you on earth, if you do not get Things in clear text in black and white. Just do it. It takes minutes to request clarification in writing, but you can have thousands of dollars if it means a loss of these calibrators argue with you about politics.

5th You can also purchase travel insurance last minute travel agents and airlines at the airport. That will be required, the strong! Needless to say this is one of the most expensive of your options. Just avoid the ground with this option, see your> Insurance, long before they must travel.

Now here is the right thing. Travel insurance are not all equal. And taking into account price, be sure to read the terms carefully. For example, the upper age limit of some insurance companies may vary.

Some companies may be able to limit the number of annual trips, while others have no limit. Look, travel insurance covers most of a series of events and claims. But as they say,the devil is in the details.

The problem is in any case with some really cheap policies from unknown and possibly disreputable companies do what they put in lowercase. You know what I mean? ... all these little statements they put on the back of the form? Or if you buy online insurance (and should), notice all the small pages of text that you actually ask for consent?

Well, that's where they buried many small and ConditionsRestrictions. Most people do not read all the terms. Do yourself a big favor and take this opportunity to read is not everything. If policy conditions are full of "weasel words" or complex language, just go ahead and buy.

All insurance companies are quick to point out how many millions you claim "total" in the event of a major accident. But they all amount to each item in your application. Thus, it claims for loss of money is limited and is required for electronicEquipment, clothing, etc.

This means that with the cheaper policies you will have a very low limit. For example, if you work for a phone and say, an MP3 player, you may find that the limit of personal electronics is not enough to pay for "one" of these devices, let alone both. Do not wait for an unfortunate event, to show the flaws in a political two cents. This is the worst time to find and is a time when it most needs help.

What should cover all areas of intervention?

1stIn case of loss or damage to property and money

2nd flight delays or cancellations

3rd Incident

4th Disease

5th Your costs if an event OCUR

6 Your potential liability to other people

7th Legal Services

Compared to the total cost, annual travel insurance is only a very small point. If you are covered for all eventualities, will be less worried about what will bring more relaxation and fun.

With this you can make your trips safer. If you are setting out for your trip and planning to do a lot, then ensure your future plans with travel insurance. It will give you coverage necessary to deal with unforeseen situations that may occur while you travel. This is certainly useful, but not all of travelers have enough money to afford it.

With affordable travel insurance, you can spend your money with care, as it is affordable even to those with tight budget. It is available for a lower rate, but the coverage is not the same in some cases. For this reason, it is essential that you carefully look through the coverage offered by a package. Generally, this type of insurance doesn't cover your whole travel costs; it covers only a part of it. However it is still better than nothing.

Approximately, you can get affordable insurance for about 3 per cent of the cost of your trip. In comparison with paying 5 per cent of the cost for traditional travel insurance. If you are purchasing your travel package online or if you are consulting with a travel agent you will find better prices for it than if you seek for it by yourself.

Affordable travel insurance doesn't essentially mean that the quality is lower and is not similar to traditional travel policies. Travel agencies realize that most individuals do not look at it as a need. They have also worked out that if they offer it at an affordable cost than their rivalry it can be a key feature for some individuals to make their choice in favor of them.

When purchasing affordable insurance, remember to compare prices. As well as this, make comparison of the coverage offered by several companies. It is important to get clear information about everything you are interested in; if you do not understand even a single issue then you can ask any question to the insurer that comes into your mind.

Certainly you never know when an unforeseen occasion, like illness or some other health problems, will cause you to call off your travel plans. And that can really get a thing of disappointment without having travel insurance, as it makes everything easier. In this case the insurer will help you to postpone it or will give you a compensation for it. Even though if you can just manage to pay for affordable insurance, you will get a partly reimbursement and you can use that money on the purpose of rearranging your travel plans.
